Sally Spicoli
Lead Vocals

Sally prides herself on capturing
the audience's attention with an incredibly energetic stage presence that
is the product of her 12 years as a performing vocalist. The fusion of her
rhythmic body movement and unique vocal style is what sets her apart from
the rest. From the first note, you will feel the power of what can only be
described as 80s Pop meets Modern Rock -- cute yet edgy, raspy yet
passionate. A prominent influence of the 80s radiates throughout her
performance both in clothing style and attitude. Her favorite movies are
classics from the 80s beginning with John Hughes flicks, "Some Kind
of Wonderful," "The Breakfast Club," "Pretty in
Pink." "Sixteen Candles," and "Ferris Bueller's Day
Off." Of course, we can't leave out the infamous "Fast Times at
Ridgemont High!" A total classic! |
Jeff Spicoli
Keys, Vocals, Drums

Playing music--especially 80s
music--has long been Jeff's passion. Just prior to The Spicolis, he spent
two years as the keyboard player for Houston-based 80s cover band 80
PROOF. Before this, he mixed it up musically in a variety of ensembles
around Texas, singing and playing bass and keyboard.
Although Jeff has been singing about
as long as he can remember, it wasn't until 1999 that he began to take
playing keyboard seriously. Around this time, he played keyboard in
Beaumont-based jazz combo Blue Progression and funk band Homer and the
Damn Horns. A few years later, in Houston, he put down the instruments for
a while to sing bass/baritone in vocal ensemble Broke N Acapella. Then, in
Dallas, he picked up the instruments once again to play bass and keyboard
in original/cover band Jamattix.
Jeff has always loved the pop music
of the 80s, and now believes he's found his calling as a musician, to keep
this wonderful decade of music alive, and cannot think of a more fun way
to do it than with The Spicolis!

George Spicoli
Guitar, Backing
Vox

George has been playing for the
better part of 25 years. He truly grew up on the 80's music scene with
influences such as Van Halen, Poison, RATT, Duran Duran, The Go-Go's and
many other great bands of that era. Iron Maiden and general Heavy Metal
was George's forte for many years, and he played with several bands while
in high school and college, then beyond. While "The Spicolis" is
a band all about having a good time, George takes his music seriously.
Playing in one of his two modes, "Collar Up" or "Collar
Down," George can throw down on some tasty waves with Van Halen, then
lay it low with some smooth Madonna... all in the blink of a guitar.
Weapons of choice include the same axes used by Phil Collen of Def Leppard,
Warren DeMartini of RATT and Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi to Bruce
Springsteen and Andy Taylor of Duran Duran.
"Life moves pretty fast. If you
don't stop & look around once in awhile you could miss it".

Dave Spicoli
Bass, Backing Vox

Before heading to Houston to jam
with "The Spicolis" Dave spent several decades waxing his
instrument and performing with many righteous bands in the greater "Bawston,
Massachusetts" area. During those early years Dave honed his skills
on the influences of Michael Anthony, Adam Clayton, Benjamin Orr and Joey
Hamilton while traveling from show to show in a smoke filled VW bus. Then
in 2000 this misplaced Yankee found himself on the wrong side of the
Mason-Dixon line and hopelessly wandering through Death Valley........er..
Houston....until meeting up with The Spicoli clan and embarking on a most
excellent adventure. Like riding a tasty wave Dave enjoys playing bass
guitars from Fender and G&L, Gallien-Kruger amps and Boss effects.
"There's a force in the
universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch
with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball".

Joe Joe Spicoli
Drums, Backing Vox

Joe Joe has been a professional
drummer for so long even he can’t remember when it all started. He
got his first drum set at the age of 14. He grew up learning his
craft by playing along to all of the classic rock hits from the 70’s and
80’s. A self taught musician, Joe Joe likes to keep it simple and
provide a groove for everyone else to fall into and spice it up just
enough to make things interesting. Though he has spent the better
part of the last decade playing country music (I KNOW!!) he secretly
longed to play the hits of his youth. Now he’s doing just that
with The Spicoli’s.
Before joining The Spicoli’s Joe
Joe had become a very popular and in demand call out or “hired gun”
drummer for various artists in the greater Houston area. Those days
are over now. Over his illustrious and sometimes infamous career as
a country drummer he was fortunate enough to have shared the stage with
the likes of Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Diamond Rio,
Phil Vassar, Ronnie Milsap, Pat Green, and many others. As Joe Joe
likes to say, “That’s just how I roll, man”.
In his spare time he like to read, a
lot, loves animals, and enjoys working on his own website www.joejoegunn.com.
Joe Joe has been married to his wife Mindi for 18 years and how she does
it is anybody’s guess.
